The Illinois Group Psychotherapy Society is the local affiliate of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, the premier professional organization of group therapy practitioners, researchers and educators in the United States.
Our mission is to encourage excellence in training and practice of group psychotherapy by: sponsoring educational and training programs aimed at enhancing skill in group leadership; providing opportunities for collegial and supportive interchange among group psychotherapy professionals; and spreading information about resources available to group psychotherapists and to consumers of group psychotherapy services.
